About Me

Hodge exam 25 A compressed

Dr. Susan Hodge considers herself a daughter of the Midwest.  She spent most of her childhood in Wisconsin, eastern New York, and Ohio then moved on to college in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.  After undergraduate school she returned home to Columbus, Ohio to pursue her dream of attending Veterinary School at The Ohio State University.  Following her studies, she worked in town as a General Practitioner which only increased her interest in surgery.  After a successful start to her career, she decided to pursue a specialty interest in surgery and went off to complete two separate internships and a surgical residency which took her to the cities of Detroit, Michigan and Indianapolis, Indiana.   Following completion of her surgical residency in Detroit, Michigan at Michigan Veterinary Specialists, she took a job with VCA in Cincinnati where she grew to love the city she had learned to called home away from home as her husband had been holding a job in Columbus, Ohio throughout her intensive training.  Dr. Hodge flourished at her new job in Cincinnati, becoming one of the youngest Medical Directors to help run a specialty office, unfortunately that time would be cut short by competition and within a short time she was forced to find a new place to call home.  Although it was only a short time away, Dr. Hodge missed the bustle of Cincinnati and soon was fortunate enough to find a new place to call home in Wilder, Kentucky.
